Guelph Women in Networking

President. A non-profit organization that has supported women dedicated to their own success since 1982. 2003 brought three dynamic opportunities for me: 1) to set the strategic plan for the next three years to help take GWIN to the next-level, 2) to develop a first-ever partnership between GWIN and the Guelph Chamber of Commerce that allows the female members to attend the events and training sessions of each networking group at member rates without the need for membership, and 3) to implement a first-ever Regional Tradeshow of all the women networking groups in the southwestern region of Ontario – ‘Connecting Women' is set to become an annual event. An active member of the Executive Committee for three years in Communications and in Program, it continues to be a rewarding, enlightening, and prosperous experience.

Sharing the skills I have gathered over the years of diverse experience is important to me as a tribute to those who so graciously mentored my success. I speak in tribute to: Michael Goldstein, John Link, Wes Plummer, Barry White, Peter Robertson, Maureen Sutherland and Sherry Skibo; each whose key-influence in my career has shaped my life.

Guelph Block Parents Inc.
Vice-Chair, Board of Directors. A community of residents that choose to reach outside the walls of their homes to participate in developing a safer community builds not just a safe-base for children, adults and seniors to find refuge from danger, but builds an enviable culture for people to live in. It may be a red and white sign in a window, but with enough of them in a neighborhood, it denotes a community that is connected, concerned and caring.
